| thank you
being away from home has been a great experience. i've been able to experience the "real world" that everyone talks about before graduating, travel a whole lot, meet new people, network, and all that jazz. but on the flipside, its made me appreciate more what makes home, home.
and among many things, i want to say that i appreciate YOU. thats right. you. my friend.
haha that was kinda cheesy.. but forreal.
this whole washington dc experience has been simply amazing. alongside the blessings im receiving here, almost everyday i've received emails, facebook messages, phone calls, texts, saying that i am missed and that theyre excited for me to come back and share with them what i've learned! i mean, who am i to deserve such attention? who am i to be a person that is missed and loved? and you want to hear what i have to say? man! its hitting me harder than ever that i am truly blessed.
in turn, i realize now that ive taken the friendships that have been graciously been given to me for granted. i've been so selfish! and im sorry. im sorry that i had to come all the way out to washington dc to realize such a thing. i hope you all can forgive me.
i dont care if it was a mindless facebook wall post or a 5 page essay email (although that would be nice. haha). or even just the thought of me being here at dc! thank you. thank you for letting me be a part of your life. thank you for allowing me to share my life with you. thank you for being there to listen. thank you for riding shotgun in my car with me. thank you for enjoying my friendship with you. thank you.
cant believe that spring quarter is just around the corner.. and that its possibly the last few months ill be in san diego. i will try my best to share my love with you because i want to! but please! please! dont hesitate to share your love with me too. a phone call or a text message wont hurt at all. :)
thank you all. and thank you God for the opportunity to experience friendship in my life.

| Hello again from the east coast!
I can’t believe that its almost been a month since I’ve been here on the east coast. It definitely has been the coldest winter I’ve had in my entire life.. but its been pretty awesome. It’s ACTUALLY cold compared to California’s winters. Ohh the good ol days in California when I would just wear a sweater or a jacket over my thin thin t-shirt to bear the “cold.” Haha. Now its more like four or five layers with gloves and a beanie. But I hear that California weather hasn’t been too spectacular either with all that rain.. but still. It’s getting to be around 40-50ish degrees for the highs here and low 30’s for the lows.. which everyone is psyched about. I checked san diego’s weather and it was the usual 60-70 degree weather. Sigh…
Anyway.. enough about the weather. Since I last updated, I’ve been traveling everywhere! Taking advantage of the weekend and the 3 day weekend a few weeks ago, I was able to visit philly and new york! It was only a daytrip upto philly so I didn’t get to see much up there.. but after a 3 day stay in new york, I seriously feel like I don’t have to go back for another 5 years.
In philly, we went to go eat some philly cheesesteaks in south Philadelphia. And looking for the BEST cheesesteaks, we were recommended to go to this block where there are two real famous cheesesteak places were at. One of them were called pats and the other was geno’s and they were literally right across the street from each other! Haha. I have to say that geno’s tasted better though.. you’ll have to try it for yourself. Other than that we went to see the liberty bell and the rocky steps.
We literally saw EVERYTHING there was to see. Yankee stadium, ground zero, Rockefeller center, times square, central park, the apple store, you name it, we went there. Actually, I googlemapped the apt. that Jemaine and Bret live in on Flight of the Conchords.. but it was too far so we couldn’t visit. Oh well.. I guess next time.
Here are some of my favorite pictures from the trips:
new york:
 new york pizza! so good
 ny apple store!
the carriage we rode around central park
artsy b/w picture of the city
picture with a statue i randomly saw on the street. haha
haha destroying the bottle of chocolate syrup
 ny cheesecake. mm so good.
picture with the statue of liberty!
philadelphia:
pat's. one of the famous cheesesteak places
geno's. the better one in my opinion.
 rocky!
pretending to be dying on the rocky steps.. or were they? haha
LOST premiered a few days ago.. it was alright. a cliffhanger as it always is. hopefully it'll be an awesome season. lakers vs wizards game tomorrow! pictures from that will be coming soon! Good luck with those midterms everyone!

| First Day of Work
so today was my first day of work and it wasn't too bad at all! when i went to visit the internship a few days ago, it seemed like the building was pretty run down and i guess that made me assume that the work environment wasn't going to be all that great either. BUT but its actually a pretty cool building in the inside and the work environment isnt bad at all. i guess i shouldn't judge a building by its cover..?? haha anyway, here are some pictures:
the main door into the lobby
 children's defense fund! woot
picture of the lobby. if you go straight down there are elevators. if you left or right, there are conference rooms for meetings. the place is 8 stories high with a basement and a sub-basement, and each floor is a separate department except mine.
my desk! took this picture right before i left work today so it looks pretty empty. but i get my own computer, an email address with cdf, and basically any stationary that i possibly need. cool huh?
can't forget about the metro. this is a picture of union station, the metro stop i get off to get to work. my work is about 2 blocks from there. it looks pretty awesome so i figured id take a picture.
so i worked in the finance department today. i was looking through word and excel files to determine which donors will receive certain tax forms and who will receive different ones. fun huh? haha. the odd thing is, im kinda liking it. i really hope i get to learn a lot about finance while im there.
also, my desk is next to the hr admin assistant, so we were talking a bit today and she was telling me about what an aspect of the hr department has been upto this year. apparently every quarter the hr dept puts on a org wide event, and they're planning to do something for valentines for this quarter. during the holidays they plan floor decoration contests, bowling nights, feeding the homeless, and a lot of other activities to allow the workers there to get to know each other. so she suggested that on the days i work in hr, we put our heads together to come up with an event during the time im there. sounds fun.
but now that i have this job i have to go to 4 days a week, i need to start setting a sleeping pattern and i can't hang out as much as i want.. but i guess thats whats gonna happen once i graduate right? might as well get used to it. haha.
hope all is well in california! | | |
| pictures are up on facebook! go look!!

| finally! im here!
for those of you who dont know, im at washington dc for the winter quarter. dont miss me too much okay? haha barf.
anyway, lemme give you a recap of my trip over to THE east coast
so my flight left lax at around 8pm on January 2nd. i was to have a layover and then go from there to washington dc... and guess where my layover was. haha freakin in san diego! how ironic is that huh? but i have to say that the flight from lax to san diego was pretty cool. it literally took a whole 30 mins to go from lax to san diego and i was able to see ucsd and all of san diego from the air! i was originally supposed to have a layover in las vegas but travelocity changed it on me the last second.. but id like to think that there was a purpose behind it. whenever im in san diego, its hard for me to see the "bigger picture" of san diego.. and being in the air to see the whole city in its entirety, i felt like God was trying to show me that "bigger picture" and i was absolutely breathless. i was able to pray for san diego before i landed for my layover. after 2 hours i got on the plane to land safely at washington dc at 6:30 in the morning.
my first impression of DC?
its cold. real cold.
apparently its the coldest its been this winter.. great. haha. just a few days ago it was raining with 30-40 degree temperature.. now its about 20-30 degrees with clear skies. so, now that its cold enough to snow, the skies are clear. lame. hopefully i get to see some snow before i leave.
as for my apartmentmates, in terms of first impressions, i think they're great guys. one of them is a 19 year old sophomore with senior standing because of his ap credits. whats crazier is that he is engaged, will be graduating in june, then will be getting married. also, he's already been accepted to davis' law school so he's gonna be going there in september.. and his fiancee is just finishing up her cpa licencing, so theyre gonna move upto davis together for her work and his schooling. CRAZY! my other apartmentmate is this "know it all" about dressing up.. so hes gonna show me how to tie a tie in a few different ways.. with a few tips about how to dress to impress. then my roommate is this really nice guy who is also a sophomore with senior standing. freakin smarty pants'.
otherwise, ive been able to explore the area im living in.. and i have to say that i absolutely love it. although its so cold that it feels like im walking around in a freezer with my face and lips crackling, the architecture of the buildings here are awesome. also, its one of those cities where you dont really need a car so you can walk everywhere.. and im enjoying that a lot as well. its giving me a chance to take in the little things and makes me appreciate this place more.
its been pretty hectic settling in and running errands and what not so i dont have too many pictures.. but im going sightseeing tomorrow so the pictures will come soon! but heres what i have so far..
 leaving lax
on the way to san diego
 leaving san diego to washington
 at super ugly DULLes airport
on the way to the washington center.. its pretty green over here. much more than la for sure

 living room of my apartment
 le kitchen
 and the room
room 508! heck yea min oh! haha
thats about it so far with the trip. a very long day one.. but a good one for sure. i know that God has much to show me while im here so im excited. just gotta bear the weather though! haha. see you all soon!
